Basic / Breeders Info

It is an extremely fast flowering cannabis strain. Grapefruit, from the start, has always been an amazing yielder of lusciously smelling bud. The current Grapefruit has been stabilized over several generations resulting in an early maturing and massive yielding beast. Make sure you have the humidity under control in the latter stages of flowering and that your ventilation works. As once these babies fill up the buds can be susceptible to mold.

The initial Grapefruit was created in 1998 as a regular strain from a special C99 clone crossed with a Thai Sativa and an automatic strain to improve flowering time. So, this strain has been around for nearly 20 years! Grapefruit was improved over the years and the female version was launched in 2003 at the start of the company Female Seeds. The Grapefruit currently being sold stems from an amazing line Ferry created in 2007. The parents of that line were selected on two criteria: the amazingly strong Grapefruit/Pineapple smell and the moderate height of the phenotypes.

The Grapefruit is a highly praised and highly sought-after strain due to the amazing smell and taste. The outstanding sweet and sour taste of pineapple and grapefruit is truly mouthwatering. The effect is a soaring, head high that inspires creativity and is long-lasting. Classic Sativa stuff. All in all, a true winner!

Sweet Deep Grapefruit presents an incredibly vigorous growth that requires much attention from the grower when cultivating indoors because she tends to stretch in excess and could easily run out of space. Outdoors, she shows her potential in warm, dry and sunny climates, as well as under the protection of the greenhouse. She’s ready after only 55-65 days of flowering indoors and by mid-/late September outdoors. In optimal growing conditions, and when provided with a standard diet, she’ll fill our garden with a marvelous aroma that will take us straight to the countryside, to a field full of fruit trees.

Sweet Deep Grapefruit showcases very special tastes and aromas, reminiscent of a tasty fruit cocktail. A not-to-be-missed sweet and fruity fragrance that will instantly seduce you with its delicious nuances of berries. In this hybrid, the amazing tastes and aromas of her predecessors become evident and are indeed much more intense.

Perfect for: Those who love intensely fruity strains with relaxing effects and heavy yields.

It performs fine when grown indoors as well as outdoors, but is best suited to grow cabinets, where it can yield 600 grams per m (1.3 pounds per light). Outdoor yields have been recorded at approximately 300 grams per plant (10 oz). Lovers of citrus will have a wonderful experience growing this variety. They’ll love its lemon, bitter orange, and grapefruit aromas that will perfume the grow area during its entire growth cycle It grows quite rapidly, with the period from germination to harvest lasting a scant eight and a half weeks. Plus, it doesn’t require special care to any great extent, just a little natural fertilizer and good exposure to light. It is a small plant, not exceeding 90 cm (35 inches), but can readily fill an entire room with its odor. So if your neighbors are allergic to grapefruit, you should install odor filters! Despite its short size, it builds up a thick main stem, with secondary lateral branches covered with buds that are compact and resinous. Its potent, aromatic buds display surprisingly dramatic orange and yellow colors.

Within seconds it causes a well balanced high that induces brain stimulation, and has a significant calming impact on the body. As with its horticulture, its buzz is harmonious; its effect is a balance between Sativa speediness and Indica couchlock, all bathed with a powerful aroma of grapefruit. Her fans say she’s an ideal strain to smoke during the day since Grapefruit enhances mood and sharpens the senses. This variety is ideal for long working days that are made enjoyable with her strong aroma of grapefruit.

It has a high percentage of cannabinoids: 19% THC and 1% CBD. Rest assured that it exerts powerful effects on the mind and body.

Its flavor is very sweet, typical of strains of marijuana found in California, with bitter a aftertaste that’s evident on the palate.
